Have you encounter an entertainer in Singapore who communicates with puppet in a show? I believe all of you do 🙂
An entertainer who uses puppet to entertain the young and old
A Ventriloquist
Since young, i am fascinated about ventriloquism as they are extremely amazing and hilarious. Even though i believe most of the people reading this, they know the secret but during the process of watching the ventriloquist controlling the puppet without opening the mouth, you did not even care about that didn’t you?
I am writing this post to pay a tribute to one of our veteran ventriloquist and entertainer in Singapore who pass away 2 years ago. His name is Victor Khoo, best known for his ventriloquist act Charlee and his Saturday morning radio shows in the 1970s. His puppet show is amazing!
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong paid tribute to Khoo on his Facebook page writing, “Victor and his puppet, Charlee, often performed at events I attended, and I always enjoyed the shows. Charlee was cheeky but remarkably well-informed. Children loved Charlee, and listened faithfully to his radio show ‘Happy Talk’ on Saturday mornings.”
Mr Victor Khoo contributed to Singapore’s society in many ways, supporting the cause of breast cancer after his first wife, Lam May Yee.
Watch his awesome showreel below!
